At this conference, we look at how the past, present and future of the governance of migration and diversity intertwine. How, when, and why does the past structure today’s society, and what can or should we expect for the future? Migrations in past decades and decisions taken on how to deal with migration and diversity, do structure current society and restrict and define policy options.
This annual LDE GMD conference brings together researchers, policymakers, practitioners, societal organisations, and academics to engage with how we can learn from past migrations and how societies have dealt with diversity. By focusing on the challenges and opportunities of the past, this conference creates perspectives on a future agenda. It is an opportunity to meet and share experiences and ideas.
This conference will take place in the heart of one of our cities - at the conference venue Scheltema in Leiden. It will host several keynote speeches, including the main keynote by Anna Mazurkiewicz, roundtable discussions, and panels. So please save the date: Wednesday, November 13th, 2024!
